Commodore: June 2010

Boating season is officially open!  Yahoo!  Our Opening Day was one of the most enjoyable days I have ever had.  We started the day with our flag raising ceremony performed by the Sea Scouts.  Next was our delicious spinach frittata breakfast.  ZoeAnn Dudley again headed up the breakfast crew and we all owe her a great big thank you!  We introduced our past commodores and VIP guests at breakfast and then headed off to our boats to get ready for the boat parade.  The parade got a bit of a late start due to ferry delays, but everyone was very patient and the parade was a big hit.  I was so glad to see such a wide variety of boats in the parade.  The wind picked up which allowed the high school sailing team to put on quite a show!  They flew around the bay like they were in little sports cars!  Oh those kids!   (more…)
