Pegasus XIV does the Swiftsure

The 2010 Swiftsure was many things this year but fast wasn’t one of them.  It had a few moments of excitement but the word was “Well, it’s never like this…”  Swiftsure normally starts with an upwind leg, the price you pay to have a good, solid downwind finish.

Oh that it were so this year.

On the other hand, we can’t say we weren’t warned.  Our weather briefing Friday started with “It looks like great wind at the start with this high offshore but sometime during the day, it will move over us giving us light and variable winds.”  Ugh.

Commodore: September 2010

Greetings,

I can’t believe that summer is almost over (if you can call this weather summer).  Fog came in July this year and really messed up my rowing schedule.  But the good thing is I completed another quilt – yea!

We’ve had some great socials this summer starting with the “Caribbean Night” hosted by Jim and Char Quandt out at Kala Point Beach.  Great chicken and even better company.  The “Dos Okies” party hosted by Paul and I was blessed with fabulous weather and incredible food.  We were also entertained by Harry and Frank with a sing-a-long.  We are not done yet with our summer and I hope many of you will be attending the social being held at Pedro’s Fiesta Jalisco in Port Hadlock on Friday,  August 27th.
