2016 February Commodore’s Column: “Set the Sea Watch”

Bruce Feb Colm

Ahoy Shipmates!   We’re underway!

Let’s again thank Commodore Walsh for his skilled leadership during 2015. I wish to express my deepest appreciation to the C.O.W. Committee, our “Master” MC and attendees for a thoroughly memorable Change of Watch. Kathy and I were amazed, amused and touched by an evening that we will never forget.

We’ve already finished the first Board and General meetings of the year.

Planning has started for watches, programs, events and cruises. Now is the time for your involvement.

We’ve grown considerably over the past few years. Some of you have been members for a long time and others joined only recently, but all of you represent an impressive collection of wide ranging talent and experience. This club works best when all are involved. Our request, to our newer members is, please don’t be shy. I’ve always believed that everyone has something to learn and everyone has something to teach! Kathy and I became members in late 2012 and Captained a cruise for the first time in 2013 with Mike and Barb Soskin as our mentors. Being new is not a liability, but an asset. You bring fresh perspectives and ideas.

2016 will be another fun and busy year, because we don’t know any other way.

May Mooredalways be a temporary status.

Bruce Painter, Commodore
