April Musing & March's Grand Successes

Wendy Weeks | Published on 3/30/2026

So much fun in March! The inaugural RV cruise; 12 people, 5 dogs, 3 museums and 2 beaches. It was a "Damn the Weather" moment and everyone had fun. The St. Paddy's Party was so wonderful, Gorski and Company events never disappoint, so let's cheer them on for an encore next year!

The transition to the Maritime Center is going well. We are learning about what we need to do to make it our own for the time we have there. Our Rear Commodore, Andy Taylor is working well with Marvin, our contact at the center. Let Andy know if you have any feedback to pass on or special requests.

Hopefully, April showers may have come early. Our events, thank goodness, are not weather dependent! The board has decided to cancel the Open Boat at Port Ludlow, due to so few boats being available. We will have a general open boat the morning before the Opening Day, Sail/Motor-by event, on May 2nd. More details to come, but if you are at Port Hadlock or Port Ludlow and want to be at Point Hudson overnight (no driving to or from the Past Commodore's Dinner!) please reserve a slip or call the office at Point Hudson ASAP! Remember to sign-up for both events (dinner and the sail/motor-by) on the website.

Please let us know your thoughts! A survey will be sent out in the next month in order to understand what is important to our membership and how you would like to see us grow. We want to envision the future of the club in a way that will direct club growth based on the member's wishes! April is also "get your boat ready" month for the upcoming cruising season.

Please remember our business partners when seeking professional help. If you need a helpful hand, many members are willing to pitch-in! Reach out through the forum, if you want to get advice or help!

See you at the April meeting!
