Sailing to Antarctica

In Peter's own words...

I grew up in a small town in central Poland, where I discovered sailing at an early age. I joined a local Yacht Club when I was just nine years old, and the sea quickly became a lifelong passion. After university, I sailed with the Shipyard Yacht Club of Gdańsk, spending years exploring the Baltic Sea, later I explored the Atlantic near Newfoundland and San Francisco Bay.
In 1998, I made my home in Redmond, Washington. Since then, my wife Aleksandra and I, have logged more than 18,000 nautical miles together, cruising the waters of Washington State, British Columbia—including the Vancouver Island, Queen Charlotte (Haida Gwaii) Islands—and Southeast Alaska. I also joined Selma Expeditions, sailing with small crews to the Antarctic Peninsula and later the South Atlantic on a voyage from Brazil to Argentina.
Over the years, I have earned multiple sailing certifications, including Yacht Master (Poland), American Sailing Association (ASA) credentials, and certification with the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary. More than anything, though, sailing has been about the joy of learning, adventure, and time spent on the water.
