Long-time PTYC member Bob Williams passed away suddenly on April 17 at Jefferson Health in Port Townsend.

Bob was born in Wenatchee and raised in the “old ship captain’s house” perched on a hill in Cashmere, Washington. He loved the outdoors — camping, hiking and especially skiing. He met Debbie at Mission Ridge in 1984 and together they raised a family focused on outdoor adventures. Bob graduated from Washington State University with a degree in horticulture and built a career in Eastern Washington’s fruit industry. In 2013 he founded his own company; and today his children Shannon, Kevin and Braden now run Williams Global Logistics.

Bob and Debbie enjoyed nearly 42 years of marriage and were proud grandparents to six. In retirement he treasured time with family, stayed active outdoors, and continued traveling — returning from a trip to France on April 10.

Many PTYC members benefited from Bob’s friendship and energy. Rain Shadow was a familiar sight hosting club festivities and cruises, and Bob and Debbie frequently opened their Marrowstone Island home for gatherings. Rhonda Turner reflected on Bob’s fun-loving nature. In 2025, Bob and Debbie held an all-club BBQ at their home… which meant feeding everybody. She remembers Bob, the grill master, struggling amidst piles of raw chicken to keep up with demand. The cooked chicken disappeared as fast as it came off the grill and Rhonda laughed at the look on his face trying to keep up… with eyes crossed and tongue hanging out.

Bob was someone who was rock steady and willing to help any and all. PTYC friends, Karen & Jim Caven, remembered one particular night after Karen’s knee replacement. It was dark, raining and their tire blew. The didn’t hesitate to call Bob knowing that no matter how tired, they knew he would rescue them…taking them home to Port Ludlow and then returning to pick them up the next day and assisting with the tire repair… all in the pouring rain.

Bob is remembered as a devoted husband, father, partner and friend. Debbie shared: “While his passing came too soon, we are grateful and comforted knowing he was in high spirits and living life to the fullest until the end.”

A memorial announcement with service details will be shared when available.
