Well it looks like June is kicking off with many of us leaving the dock, or getting ready to leave in the next week or so. It is great to see folks using their boats! Let's hope the weather spares the fleet of June gloom, AKA Junuary! Three cruises leave the dock this month; there is still time to join the Otter Bay cruise, if you have been on the fence concerning where to go.
The Board will be reviewing the survey results and then a summary will be presented at our June business meeting. The board did decide to only hold full business meetings 3-4 times a year. The "must discuss items" will be presented briefly at the meetings that are not scheduled as full business meetings and then will be followed by more information in an email.
This gives the members more time to socialize and for our speakers to present. June, and November are slated as the full business meetings for 2026. If items need to go to a vote in the non-business months, email voting on issues will be held to get a consensus for important changes. This month we will vote on a slight board structure change for the Trustee positions. I will talk about the changes at the June meeting and then we will send out a summary and a ballot later in the month to get the change implemented. A vote to change the bylaws will follow later in the summer.
Please consider stepping up and joining a team! We need folks to become involved and we are working to find a place for folks to help out an easier process. More information is forthcoming!
