Hello All -
I am reading that folks are still venturing far and wide on their boats this fall. How wonderful!
As you may know I have been in Europe for the past three weeks. The start of the Golden Globe Race at the wonderful town of Sables d’Olonne, was exciting and now we can cheer on our hometown boat from afar! If Matt Woodside doesn’t make the Hobart gate by January 31st, that is the end for him… we shall see!
Dan and I also took a day in Iceland (yes, we did the Blue Lagoon) and toured the south coast. We also just finished 6 days on a le Boat canal boat (U- drive and crew) in the Alsace region. It was wonderful and we especially loved Saverne!
Now back in Port Townsend, we had a lovely interclub, late afternoon picnic and Wiffle Ball game with the Port Ludlow Yacht Club. It was great fun and members of both clubs suggested that it should be an annual event!
The late October Member Appreciation reception at the Port Townsend Golf Course should also be a fun new event. Sign-up as soon as you can!
Lastly, we could use some help with the bylaw edits! Drea Feight, Linda James and I started this work in the spring and we have much to do in the next month. Shoot me an email if you think you can join us. We have met at Aldrich’s on a weekday morning in the past and will soon be gathering again!
With Gratitude for all of you! Wendy Weeks
