Ginger and Peter Niemann will be sharing their tales of circumnavigating the world (twice!) beginning in 2006 when they embarked on a 4-year journey west-about via the Cape of Good Hope and Cape Horn in their 47' sloop, Marcy. After a few years back in Seattle replenishing their sailing coffers, they departed again in 2017 with a 50 foot ketch named Irene on an east-about circumnavigation through the Northwest Passage, Europe, the Suez Canal, Singapore, Japan and the Aleutions. They returned to their home port in Ballard in August 2021 after months of dealing with the world-wide Covid pandemic. Peter and Ginger sail double handed and enjoy the teamwork and communication of sailing. They now call Port Townsend their home.
