Gulf Islands Cruise II
Montague Harbour, Galiano Island
Ganges Marina, Saltspring Island
Co-Captains have called the Marinas to alert that we expect 8 boats on this cruise. Each Registrant is responsible for making their own reservations. Several destinations offer anchorage as well so you have options. Deadline for Registration is July 1st!

July 20  Poets Cove, South Pender Island 250-629-2111 or email marina@poetscove.com and tell them you are with PTYC.  Good anchorage in adjacent Bedwell Harbour as well. Enjoy appetizers and BYOB happy hour.

July 21-22 You choose your destination:
1. Tibbals are going to Ganges Marina on Salt Spring Island. Phone 250-537-5242 or email gangesmarina@gmail.com. Visit art galleries, artisan cheese makers, restaurants, bakeries, wineries, or a microbrewery. On 21st, plan appetizers with BYOB on the dock. The group will decide dining options for the 22nd.

2. Gorskis are heading to Montague Harbour Marine Provincial Park with mooring buoys and good anchorage. A small marina is nearby for those wanting power and amenities. For Marina call 250-539-5733 or email montagueharbourmarina@gmail.com.  Activities may include a ride to the Hummingbird Pub, beach combing with tide pools to explore, kayaking and a small marina market to visit. After scoping out the facilities, your Captains plan for heavy appetizers on the secluded beach on Gray Peninsula which has a picnic area and toilets.

July 23-24 Telegraph Harbour on Thetis Island, phone 250-246-9511 or email sunny@telegraphharbour.com.  This is a lovely well protected bay with space to beach comb, picnic and enjoy the wildlife. Kayak through "the cut" at high tide to Clam Bay. Amenities include a small general store and coffee/ice cream bar, laundromat, showers and fuel dock. Your Co-Captains are planning a Taco Dinner and Margaritas on the 23rd. From this location it is possible to walk to the ferry that takes you to the village of Chemainus on the Cowichan Coast. This town has dozens of wonderful outdoor murals with a variety of boutiques, galleries and eating venues. For those going to Chemainus on the 24th, some may stay for a group dinner before returning to Thetis Island.

July 25-26 Genoa Bay Marina 250-746-7621 or email info@genoabaymarina.com.  This spot has an excellent restaurant, the Genoa Bay Cafe, just above the Marina with both indoor and patio dining overlooking the harbour.  The Cabana down on the docks also serves lovely breakfast options for a very reasonable price. On June 25th, join the Tibbals for a short ride to the town of Cowichan to spend the day where we can visit wineries, an Estuary Nature Center and the Cowichan Bay Maritime Centre. A farewell dinner will be planned for the night of the 26th before cruisers may choose to return to the U.S.

July 27 Garrison Bay on San Juan Island, for those who wish to anchor and explore the history of the Pig War at the encampment on the Bay, this is a lovely end to the cruise before departing to home or other destinations (maybe the Anacortes Cruise starting August 1st?).
