New Moon- A Dog’s Tale is a whimsical account of a family’s journey through life, as told from the perspective of Oswald, the family dog.

Oswald often misunderstands what’s happening around him, but in doing so, he unwittingly reveals valuable truths about being human. Through Oswald’s eyes, we learn the importance of food, merriment, and sitting by the fire. At least, he says, that was his pack’s holiday tradition up until what he calls the “Big Shift”, when his pack begins unraveling. This is where Oswald starts his strange story, where he weaves his luminous tale, where he holds up “the ball” and waves it around for a few precious moments. Through the eyes of our most beloved canine companions,
New Moon- A Dog’s Tale celebrates the depth of our capacity to love, the mysteries of nature’s cycles of change, and the importance of paying attention to what is right in front of our noses.

Key City Public Theater Artistic Associate, Brendan Chambers, performs the role of Oswald the Dog and will present some highlights from the show, which runs at the theater December 1 - 23. Brendan is now in his 6th season with KCPT and is the coordinator and lead teaching artist for our expanding youth education programs. He recently appeared in the theater's spring production Around the World in Less than 80 Days and served as choreographer and assistant director for last month's Always, Patsy Cline.
