As the tradition continues, cruisers will meet up and secure the floating dock in Reid Harbor on Stuart Island in the San Juans. PTYC Members have been gathering in this spot for decades to celebrate our nation‘s Independence Day with a dinghy parade and shared meal. Other fun activities include hiking the Stuart Island trails and roads and visiting the historic Turn Point lighthouse. If lucky, you will get a chance to see Orcas in the deep water off of Turn Point.

This adventure is for newbies and oldies as we continue to explore some of the most popular destinations in the Canadian Gull Islands. Some of us will be sailing so the trip is designed to accommodate all cruising speeds.

July 19 - meet up in the San Juans - likely Shaw Island. Celebrate crossing the Juan de Fuca Straits. Row over to the smallest island park, Blind Island, or to the general store for ice cream. Get ready to go abroad!

July 20 - Poets Cove - clear customs and enjoy Poets Cove resort amenities including the pool and dining. Great hiking available.

July 21 & 22 - Here we can divide up. You can pick from Montague Harbor or Ganges Marine Park.
Choice 1: Montague Harbor Marine Provincial Park on Galiano Island. Mooring Buoys and good anchorages. Small marina with basic supplies. Beach combing, tide pools to explore.
Choice 2: Ganges Marine Park on Salt Spring Island. Visit art galleries or rent a paddleboard. Good restaurants including the Tree House Cafe (with a tree right in the middle!) and great entertainment.

July 23 & 24 - Telegraph Harbor located on Thetis Island. This is a well protected bay with room to beach comb, picnic and partake in wildlife viewing. The marina has a general store, coffee bar, laundromat, showers and fuel dock. You can also ferry across to Chemainus for the day, a picturesque artisan village on the Cowichan coast.

July 25 & 26 - Genoa Bay Marina, located on the east coast of southern Vancouver island. Enjoy breakfast on the dock and dining at the Genoa Bay Cafe overlooking the Marina. Your cruise captains will coordinate adventures in and around the Cowichan Coast.

July 27 return to the US for a layover at the historic Garrison Bay. Learn how a pig started a war between the US and Great Britain. Our fleet will enjoy a Potluck dinner as we celebrate our Gulf Island II sojourn.

July 28 - Head for home or points beyond. Consider linking up with the Anacortes Arts Cruise!
